News In Brief...

25 March, 2010: The first progeny of Willowbend Stallion HELTER SKELTER were showcased at this weeks QTIS 600 Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast.

A filly by Helter Skelter from Le Cat fetched a solid $24,000, knocked down to Victorian based agent Cameron Cooke.

Helter Skelter stands at an advertised fee of just $3,500, with this sale result representing almost seven times his service fee.

An impressive return for the fillies’ breeders.

Barn mate CLANG was represented by an outstanding full brother to ADNOCON at the QTIS 600 Sale.

Whilst he was passed in at $100,000, it’s unlikely the stunning colt will remain unsold with several prospective buyers on his trail.

Adnocon is prepared by Gerald Ryan, the man who put the polish on Clang’s dual Group 1 winning son Clangalang.

Third at his most recent start in the $250,000 Magic Millions Stayers Cup (1800m), Adnocon is the winner of 4 races and more than $175,000 in prizemoney.

Out of the Danehill mare Gwenn, Adnocon was an inexpensive $18,000 yearling buy.

Another cheap yearling by Clang is smart stayer MR CLANGTASTIC.

Purchased as a yearling for just $10,000 by smart Victorian syndicator Vern Rayner, Mr Clangtastic recently resumed racing with a solid third at Randwick.

The Marc Conners prepared gelding took all before him last preparation in the Sydney staying ranks.
His first up effort over 1600m suggested he won’t be far out of the winners circle.

Still on the racetrack, Clang’s main flagbearer BLACK PIRANHA resumed in fine order last Saturday.

He finished a gallant second in the Group 2 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) behind Hot Danish.

Last year’s Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap winner, Black Piranha looks set for a strong Autumn and Winter.
